Chew-Proof Dog Leashes

No leash is chew proof. A dog with time, boredom and jaw strength will get through anything you hand them, and any brand claiming otherwise is selling you something.

What we build is a leash that survives the chewing that actually happens — the idle gnawing at the curb, the grab-and-shake on the walk, the dog who has already destroyed three flat nylon leads. Double-thick nylon, reinforced stitching, and steel hardware at both ends.

If your dog has gone through a leash a month this leash is for you.

Chewing, materials, and what actually survives

Is this leash chew proof?

No, and we will not say it is. It is chew resistant. The difference matters — a chew proof claim is a promise nobody can keep, and we would rather tell you what the leash actually does.

What about a metal or chain lead?

Chain stops the chewing and introduces different problems — weight, noise, and a lead that swings hard if the dog lunges. For most dogs a heavy nylon build with reinforced stitching is a better trade.

My dog chews through a leash a month. What changes?

Double-thick nylon takes longer to defeat, and the reinforced stitching means a partly chewed leash does not part in one go. The saying "two is one and one is none” is true here. Two layers of webbing act as a back up and reinforcement to to chewing and fraying.

Will this work with my DUO harness?

Yes. Steel hardware at both ends, and it clips to any of the rings on a PRO or ESSENTIALS harness.

What if the dog wins?

Email us. We have been doing this for seven years and we answer our own email.

Pair it with our heavy duty dog harnesses or our harnesses for large dogs.
