No-Pull Dog Harnesses for Large Dogs

A standard front-clip harness, instead of stopping your dog from pulling, usually just twists and slides to the side of your dogs body. It’s like wearing a loose t-shirt- it will pull right off instead of actually doing what its intended. Webbing not pull harnesses go across your dogs shoulders impeding their natural gait.

DUO uses a patented cinch instead. Under leash tension the harness contracts against the dog's body, it tightens and grabs their body instead of sliding around and slipping off. It then turns them back toward you when they pull. It is not a negative correction and does not affect their throat, instead it constricts helping stay tight to their chest and ribs and helps guide them back to you under leash tension.

The same mechanism is what stops a dog backing out. A harness that contracts under load cannot rotate around the body or be reversed out of.

DUO PRO is cut and sewn by hand in Southern California in sizes M through XXL, with steel and zinc alloy hardware rated to 2000 pounds and load-bearing joints bar-tacked with T70 thread. Built for dogs that have already broken something.

Pulling, reactivity, and what actually works

Will this stop my dog pulling completely?

No harness trains a dog. This one makes the walk manageable while you do the training — your dog's force works against them instead of against you.

Is this a correction device?

No. There is no throat pressure and no pain component. The cinch contracts across the chest and body, and it has a mechanical hard stop so it cannot over-tighten.

My dog is reactive. Does that change anything?

Reactivity is where the handle and the cinch matter most — a lunge is a sudden high load, not a steady pull. The harness contracts on the lunge, and the shoulder handle gives you a second point of control.

How is this different from a front-clip harness?

A standard front clip, when your dog pulls, lets the harness be pulled OFF the body. Our patented system constricts, getting tighter to the body, giving you better control.

How is this different from a head halter?

A head halter works by controlling the head, which many dogs hate and some fight hard enough to injure themselves. This works on the body.

What size do I need?

Measure the base of the neck and the chest behind the front legs and send us both numbers. We will give you one answer, not a range.

Also see our dog harnesses for large dogs if you are still deciding on size.

If your dog has broken a harness before, our heavy duty dog harnesses use steel hardware and bar-tacked load joints.
