Heavy Duty Dog Harnesses

"Heavy duty" on a product page usually means a little extra padding and some molle webbing. It rarely means the construction and internal design of the product are built to withstand the demands of large dogs.. The buckles are still plastic, the thread is usually cotton or low quality nylon and the overall construction is not designed to last. It is designed to fall apart over time - so you buy another one

DUO PRO is built the other way round. Steel and zinc alloy hardware rated to 2000 pounds. 1000D ballistic nylon and 500D Cordura. Milspec webbing. Every load-bearing joint bar-tacked and T70 bonded nylon thread used through out. All leash attachment points are structural - meaning they are secured to the entire body of the harness, including and internal skeleton made of webbing, fabric and foam, instead of just sewn to the top layer.

Cut and sewn by hand in Southern California, made to order, sizes M through XXL.

Materials and failure points

Is this harness indestructible?

No, and anyone telling you otherwise is selling you something. A determined dog with time and boredom can destroy almost anything. What we build is a harness that does not fail under load — and a lifetime warranty with free repairs for everything else.

What is the hardware rated to?

Steel and zinc alloy, rated up to 2000 pounds. That is the hardware rating, not a claim about the whole assembly, and it is well beyond what any dog can generate.

What does bar-tacked mean, and why does it matter?

A bar tack is a dense block of stitching that spreads load across a wide area instead of concentrating it on a single line of thread. Load-bearing joints fail at the stitching long before the webbing gives out. That is where most harnesses break.

What is the difference between ballistic nylon and Cordura?

Both are abrasion-resistant technical fabrics. 1000D ballistic nylon takes impact and tearing; 500D Cordura is lighter with excellent abrasion resistance. We use both depending on the model and where the wear happens.

What if it fails anyway?

Send it back. Lifetime warranty on materials and craftsmanship, free repairs, and we have been doing this for seven years. We answer our own email.

Which model is the most heavy duty?

ECLIPSE — armored construction, ballistic nylon, and the heaviest build we make. DIRECT and ADAPT are built to the same standard with different patented function.

Built for large and giant breeds, and for dogs that pull hard enough to break things.
